Based on the scripture from Proverbs 29:18 ("Where there is no VISION, the people perish …"), Vision Student Ministries is driven by purpose.

In the context of this scripture, we understand that vision refers to much more than natural sight, or the sensory function of seeing. It actually means purpose.

Our purpose is to reach the students of our generation, to connect them with a community of fellow believers, to help them grow in their faith and to challenge them to discover their ministry while honoring God with a lifestyle of worship.

Life Classes

theGate is designed for our Junior High students and meets each Sunday at 10 a.m.  We begin each week with an informal gathering, complete with a light breakfast, video games and conversation. Our lessons are targeted specifically toward students in 7th and 8th grades.

Ignite is our Senior High (grades 9-12) class, which meets each Sunday at 10 a.m.  We enjoy breakfast and catch up with each other’s weeks before digging in to our weekly lesson.

Designed for college students and young adults between the ages of 19-26, Reverb meets every Sunday at 10 a.m. We enjoy fellowship together with coffee and breakfast pastries, discuss what’s happening in our lives and the world, and then proceed into a lesson. .

Ministries and Fellowship

Virtue, our young ladies’ ministry for grades 7-12, meets on the fourth Wednesday night of each month. In addition to these monthly small group sessions, Virtue hosts outings ranging from spa days to shopping trips, all-night sleepovers, and even pottery classes, all designed to help our young women connect.

Image, our young men’s ministry for grades 7-12, meets on the fourth Wednesday night of each month. In addition to these monthly small group sessions, Image hosts outings ranging from game nights to paintball excursions, canoeing and all-night lock-ins, providing opportunities for connecting with each other.

Vision Wednesday Service

At 7 p.m. each Wednesday, students meet in the Vision Room for an energetic time of worship and teaching. Open to all students – junior high, senior high, and college – our mid-week gathering aims to do three things:

  • Reach OUT through evangelism: We love seeing new students come to Christ!
  • Reach IN through discipleship: Each week, we hear life-changing biblical truths presented in a creative way that we can relate to.
  • Reach UP through worship: One of the most exciting things is seeing our room full of students worshipping God together.

Worship Community (Students | Children)

Our students are an integral part of our worship community at First Church, offering their talents as gifts to God through the Youth Choir, the S.W.A.T. Team and our annual Music and Arts Showcase.
